UPCYCLED TIRE PURSE

A customer favorite, this unique upcycled tire purse is just right for those days when you want a smaller bag. The inside of this purse is divided in two and it has a zipper pocket and a phone pocket. The bag has a front flap with a magnetic snap closure and a long adjustable shoulder strap. These recycled rubber tire bags are hand stitched by paraplegics with spinal injuries who are undergoing rehabilitation in Banepa, Nepal. Besides giving the makers some self-sufficiency, the skills gained enable them to seek outside employment on leaving the rehab facility. Rubber truck tubes are collected from area garages, cleaned and recycled into a variety of bags, thus keeping the rubber from being burned or dumped. Each brass buckle is hand crafted by other spinal injury victims being treated at a neighboring facility.
